Sheila Chang, CPA
Sheila Chang, CPA, joined Frendel Brown & Weissman as an Audit Director in August 2025, bringing over 15 years of public accounting experience. She has worked with clients across a range of industries, including real estate, real estate funds, manufacturing and distribution, professional services, and other commercial sectors. Sheila has led complex engagements involving business combinations, group audits, and technically challenging accounting issues, drawing on her background at firms such as Citrin Cooperman, UHY, and CohnReznick.
Sheila provides audits, reviews, compilations, and agreed-upon procedure services, tailoring each engagement to meet the unique needs of her clients. She also oversaw quality control during her tenure at a boutique firm in New York City, reinforcing her commitment to technical excellence. Evan Cohen, CPA
Evan Cohen, CPA, has worked with clients in many areas of taxation, including financial services, high net worth, and international tax. Additionally, he frequently represents his clients before the Internal Revenue Service and other taxing authorities. Mr. Cohen joined Frendel, Brown & Weissman in 2022, previously having worked with the Financial Services team at Baker Tilly US, LLP.
Mr. Cohen graduated from Binghamton University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in both Political Science and Economics. He then earned his Master of Business Administration in Professional Accountancy at Hofstra University in 2018. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Veronica Valdez, CPA
With more than 15 years of experience in taxation, Ms. Valdez is responsible for planning and compliance of privately held businesses, family businesses and high net worth families. Specializing in taxation for industries such as real estate, manufacturing, wholesale and distribution, and professional services, she also plans and presents CPE classes focused on technical taxation matters for the tax department.
Ms. Valdez joined Frendel, Brown & Weissman LLP in 2019, prior to which she was a partner with the Commercial Tax Group at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP. She earned her M.S. in Taxation and B.A. in Accounting from Hofstra University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Association of Latino Professionals of America.
