    Joseph Abraham, CPA

    Joseph Abraham, CPA, EA concentrates in taxation, mergers and acquisitions, personal service companies, and real estate. As an advisor for many of his clients, he is active in business-decision processes, and often represents his clients before the Internal Revenue Service and all other taxing authorities.

    Mr. Abraham joined Frendel Brown & Weissman in 1987 after earning his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Queens College. He became a partner in 1997. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

    Julia Alevreas, CPA

    Julia Alevreas, CPA, brings her knowledge regarding many aspects of taxation with a concentration in trusts, estate, and non-for-profits. Ms. Alevreas joined Frendel Brown & Weissman, LLP in 2017 and has continued to grow and develop her expertise over her time here. Her previous experience includes working as Senior Tax Accountant for Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP High Net Worth Group.

    Ms. Alevreas stresses the firm’s belief in a hands-on approach to managing all client’s relationships and works closely with many clients throughout the year in all aspects of their accounting needs.

    Tina Bravo

    Tina Bravo has more than 15 years of experience in public accounting in both Australia and the United States, helping high net worth individuals & supporting owners of privately held businesses. Her expertise includes providing accounting and tax services to clients in various industries including real estate, service, wholesale and retail industries.

    Mrs. Bravo graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) with a Bachelor of Business, with Accounting & Finance majors, and has held positions at Crest Financial Pty Ltd & Kelly + Partners Chartered Accountants from her time in Australia. She relocated to New York in early 2013 when she joined the Frendel, Brown & Weissman LLP team and became Partner in January 2025. Tina is passionate about assisting and encouraging her clients to expand and grow with their business to help plan for a secure financial future.

    Gabriella Coppola, CPA

    Gabriella S. Coppola, CPA, has expertise in taxation and financial planning, with a focus on minimizing risk and maximizing tax efficiency for privately held businesses and individuals. She works with clients across various industries, including hedge funds, investment partnerships, construction, retail, and wholesale businesses. She has frequently represented her clients before the Internal Revenue Service and other taxing authorities.

    Ms. Coppola joined Frendel, Brown & Weissman in 2014 after earning her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Elmira College. She became a partner in 2025. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

    John Deignan, CPA

    John Deignan, CPA has more than 30 years of financial services experience as a consultant and in-house advisor for corporations, privately held companies, individuals and owners in real estate, service, manufacturing, wholesale and retail industries.

    He has held positions at Pannell Kerr Foster (now PKF O’Connor Davies) as a tax accountant, Rosenberg, Selsman & Company as a partner, and at a manufacturing business as CFO/Controller, where he handled all financial decisions and was responsible for day-to-day business operations. In January 2014, Mr. Deignan structured a deal for the sale of the manufacturing business, and joined Margulies, Katzen & Bass LLP as a partner in January 2015, which merged with Frendel, Brown & Weissman LLP on January 1, 2019.

    Mr. Deignan graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in June 1985. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, a former treasurer of Governors Pointe Condominium Association and is a board member on the finance committee of Holy Family Parish in New Brunswick, NJ.

    Daniel F. Gornstein, CPA

    Daniel F. Gornstein, CPA, has expertise in hedge funds, investment partnerships, retail, and wholesale businesses. He is also proficient in all areas of taxation including tax planning and representation before all taxing authorities.

    Mr. Gornstein joined Frendel, Brown & Weissman in 1997 after earning his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Accounting from Binghamton University. He became a partner in 2006.He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

    Gary G. Katzen, CPA

    Gary G. Katzen, CPA specializes in retail, wholesale, nonprofit, and real estate partnership accounting. He is involved in taxation issues, and represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and all other taxing authorities. Mr. Katzen also has advised several clients on business succession planning, and has participated in due diligence involving the sales of entities to public companies.

    Mr. Katzen joined Frendel Brown & Weissman in 1987 after earning his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brooklyn College. He became a partner in 1997. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

    Richard D. Katzen, CPA

    Richard D. Katzen, CPA has more than 40 years of experience in public accounting, providing accounting, consulting, and tax services for privately held businesses and individuals.

    With a concentration in real estate, medical and other professional sectors, retail, and distribution, he also has extensive experience in high net worth advisory.

    Mr. Katzen earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brooklyn College in 1977. He was a partner in Margulies, Katzen & Bass LLP for 20 years until the merger into Frendel, Brown & Weissman LLP in January of 2019.

    Mr. Katzen is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is licensed to practice in New Jersey and New York.
